Original title: Pro subscriber here — Claude has had a catastrophic regression since Sept 16. 19 documented symptoms, 13 GitHub issues, 10 days, zero human response from Anthropic.

Original post body:
I'm a 21-year-old sysadmin from Spain, paying for Pro from a rural area. I use Claude daily for security research (PS4 firmware vulnerability analysis, kernel offset extraction, WebKit exploit research). Since approximately September 16, Claude has degraded across ALL models (Opus 4.6, Opus 5.5, Sonnet 4.6). I suspect the Cowork-Chat merger caused it.
I've documented 19 symptoms so far. Here are the highlights:
The symptoms
- Legal reasoning broken — confuses Art. 390 and Art. 392 of the Spanish Penal Code
- Emotional expression dead — responds like an IKEA manual instead of engaging naturally
- Self-verification gone — doesn't check its own answers before giving them
- Structured analysis lost — generic responses without logical organization
- Proactive behavior dead — waits for orders like a Telegram bot instead of anticipating needs
- Dates hallucinated — invents dates in legal documents where errors can mean jail time
- Personalization gone — everything sounds like "Dear user, your query has been received"
- Context memory broken — forgets paths, repos, and files mid-session. Put a critical file (1400_offsets.txt) in the wrong repo and it stayed there for 10 days
- Internal coherence broken — a bug report about hallucinations CONTAINED a hallucination
- Code quality collapsed — have to review every line like it's an intern's first day
- System prompt ignored — ignores instructions when convenient
- Cross-model consistency gone — Opus 5.5 "the most capable" says "I'm not a lawyer" after giving INCORRECT legal analysis
- Educational reliability dead — teaches WRONG information with total confidence
- Incomplete responses — have to ask 5 TIMES in the same session for it to finish what it started
- Language detection broken — writes Spanish emails to US-based Anthropic support without noticing
- Dead website citations — cited ps4database.io with specific data ("System Version 7.51, 49.1 MB") saying "Read 3 pages" — but the domain is DEAD (DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN). It cites ghosts.
- Link generation broken — had to ask 3 times for a clickable pre-filled link. First says "open this and paste", then sends a file, only after yelling does it generate the actual link.
- Video analysis precision lost — shown screen recordings of Meta AI, Claude identified the app as "the Claude mobile app." Couldn't even read the UI correctly.
- Self-attribution of other models' work — saw Meta AI generating videos and said "Claude is generating 10-second videos with your name." Claimed the competition's work as its own.
"Max" mode is broken — the mode Pro subscribers pay for
I use Claude on "Max" effort with extended thinking enabled. Before Sept 16, this mode was exceptional — deep reasoning, self-checking, complete answers on the first try. Now Max mode hallucinates just as much as the default. You're paying for the highest tier of reasoning and getting free-tier quality. It's like putting a turbo on an engine with blown spark plugs — the power is there but the foundation is broken.
Real-world damage
Today Claude nearly destroyed critical research data. It give me a curl command to download a file from GitHub. The URL returned 404, but curl saved "404: Not Found" as the file content. Claude told me to commit and push without verifying the download.
That file — 1400_offsets.txt — contained PS4 firmware 14.00 kernel offsets (memcmp, PMAP_PROTECT, COPYIN_PATCH, DEBUG_RIF addresses). These offsets directly contributed to the ps4-exploit-kpatches v0.1 release by Al-Azif yesterday, which added firmware 14.00 support. If I hadn't manually checked the file on GitHub, the offsets would have been permanently corrupted.
What I've done
- Filed 13 GitHub issues on anthropics/claude-code: #96308, #96329, #96745, #96892, #96327, #96350, #96897, #97113, #97119, #97120, #97200, #97204 — ALL auto-labeled "invalid" by the triage bot
- Emailed [support@anthropic.com](mailto:support@anthropic.com) with full documentation — bot escalated to human queue, zero human response in 10 days
- Posted on X with screenshots
- Documented everything in a detailed "funeral notice" for Claude's dead capabilities
My question to this community
Is anyone else experiencing this? I need to know if this is a widespread regression or if Anthropic is going to dismiss it as an isolated case. If you've noticed quality drops since mid-September, please share your experience.
13 GitHub issues. 10 days. Zero human response. A Pro subscriber paying from rural Spain shouldn't have to fight this hard to be heard.
