I have a DS920+ with multiple Ethernet interfaces (namely the two built-in 1GbE ports on eth0/eth1 and an external 2.5GbE USB adapter on eth2). I have eth0 and eth2 connected to my network for redundancy (since if eth2 fails I'd like to still be able to connect to the device to try a remote reboot, since physically accessing it isn't always convenient).
Both eth0 and eth2 are being advertised as $HOSTNAME.local on the local mDNS, so it's random as to which adapter gets used when I connect to it.
Is there a way to either prioritize the 2.5Gbps interface for .local connections, or modify the Avahi configuration to either use just one adapter, or set a different name for each interface? In particular, I'd like the 1GbE adapter to either not be advertised at all, or be advertised as $HOSTNAME-1g.local.
Thanks!
