What should I expect in a SysAdmin interview?

I’ve been working at an MSP for around 4 years. I started in help desk/field support and was promoted to Systems Engineer earlier this year.

Since it’s an MSP my experience is pretty broad. Working with M365/Exchange, AD, Windows Servers, GPO, DNS/DHCP, firewalls, switches/VLANs, VPNs, backups, endpoint management, virtualization, and just regular helpdesk support. Also tons of on-site experience as well with setting up networks from scratch, replacing/upgrading network infrastructure, IP Cameras etc etc.

I’m now interviewing for an internal IT Systems Administrator position at a fairly large company with corporate offices, retail locations, and distribution infrastructure.

The job description focuses on Windows Server, AD, DNS/DHCP, GPO, TCP/IP, VLANs/ACLs, endpoint management, storage, backup/recovery, cloud infrastructure, ITSM/SLA/SOP processes, and supporting a mix of Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and Android devices.

I’ve already had the initial interview over the phone and have now been invited onsite for an hour. I’ll be interviewing with the IT Director and IT Security Manager.

For anyone who has interviewed for similar SysAdmin roles, what would you expect this round to look like? I'm of course nervous and want to be as mentally prepped as possible and to avoid as many 'curveballs' as I can lol..

Also curious what technical areas you’d brush up on beforehand. I’m comfortable troubleshooting these things in the real world, but interviews are obviously a little different when someone asks you to explain everything on the spot :/
