hey — I'm building Shamefull. It blocks porn-site domains on iPhone and Android, and the main feature is how removal works: the service keeps the removal code, and canceling starts a 72-hour wait before it's available.
The idea is to give someone a pause between wanting to switch it off and getting the code.
On the building side, the desktop setup app uses Tauri/Rust and React, with a Kotlin app on Android. It configures the phone over USB: a supervised DNS profile on iPhone, or managed Private DNS through Android Device Owner. The computer itself isn't filtered.
That creates a real onboarding tradeoff. Using the phone's management controls adds setup work: iPhone requires an Apple Silicon Mac plus backup/restore; Android also works with Windows 11 and requires temporarily removing phone accounts. Both need a USB cable. The removal delay is intentional, but that initial setup is still a hurdle users need to understand before signing up.
It filters domains, not individual content inside allowed apps, and a full phone erase is still an exit.
I'd like to hear whether the setup and removal process make sense, and what you'd want explained or demonstrated before connecting your phone.
