Hello, I pay for a Minecraft Realms that myself and my two young children (both under 10) play on. I am trying to link my son’s Xbox account to his Minecraft software on his Nintendo Switch. It’s a Nintendo Switch 1, not a Nintendo switch 2. I have attempted to connect using the Microsoft.com/link link and the QR code on the switch itself. It has been previously linked and he has been able to play without issue before, but it signed out and needs to be signed in again.
In trying to do so, I repeatedly receive the Drowned error. Here are the steps I have taken over several weeks to resolve it:
– I have cleared the account credentials on the Switch.
– I logged out and logged back in.
– I have attempted to use ms.remoteconnect.
– I have disconnected and reconnected the WiFi.
– I have made sure the WiFi connection is stable, including making the attempt near the router.
– I have power cycled the router with a 12 second gap.
– I have changed the DNS to Manual and then changed it back to Automatic.
– I have deleted the game from the Switch and redownloaded it.
The account is a managed account under my own. His sister also has one and hers has never had an issue. Both children’s Xbox accounts are already set up to allow multiplayer games and cross-network play. They've both signed in on their Switches and have played on this Realms before.
I reached out to Microsoft support, but the IVR directed me to xbox.com/help and closed the call before I could talk to someone. The IVR said I could request a call-back there, but the only option was a virtual agent chat. I tried that and was told it couldn't help me and then told me to try everything I had already listed (above). I have attempted to start a new chat to ask for a call-back or other support option, but now every time I try to do so, I am told the virtual agent isn't available.
There is honestly no other way to contact anyone that I can see. Can anyone here help me out?
