Where domain hunters compare notes

Ever wondered what actually happens after you type a website address and press Enter? 🌐

It looks instant, but behind the scenes your browser goes through a whole chain of steps:

DNS finds the IP address β†’ your device connects to the server β†’ the browser sends an HTTP request β†’ the server responds β†’ your browser builds the page you see.

This is the simplified version. Real websites can also involve caching, CDNs, proxies, redirects, firewalls, load balancers, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, and more.

You don’t need to memorize everything at once. Start by understanding the flow.

Save this post for later and share it with someone learning IT.

Free one-page version will be available in the Discord.
