Where domain hunters compare notes

I’m building something that isn’t another porn blocker, and I need to know if it actually makes sense

I've been stuck on something that doesn't add up. Blockers exist (Covenant Eyes and the rest), and forums exist where you tell your story after it's already over. What I can't find is anything for the exact stretch of time when you're about to give in. That fifteen-minute window where you've already decided no, but your body hasn't caught up yet.

I don't know if this is going to work. I mean that literally, it's not the standard launch-post line. But I'd rather be wrong out loud than keep the idea sitting in a notes app.

The idea is called FlashNote and right now it's two pieces, nothing more:

**A live counter.** When you open the app in that hard moment, you see how many people are going through the same thing right now. No profiles, no names, no chat. Just knowing you're not the only one awake at 3am fighting this.

**A note drop.** When someone comes out the other side of an episode, they can leave a short note for whoever opens one next. No wall, no replies, no likes. You receive a note, not a conversation. I think that's the actual difference from a forum: a forum helps you afterward, this is trying to sit with you during. You can replace doomscrolling and not use porn, at the same time.

What this app is NOT: it doesn't block anything, doesn't touch your DNS, won't physically stop you from doing what you're going to do. If that's what you need, better tools already exist for that. This is meant to be a companion for the minutes where you're deciding, not a wall. Mainly for those who tried it all already.

Things I still haven't figured out:

– How to keep the notes from turning into generic motivational-poster advice if authored notes (from users) aren’t good enough or trolls.
– Whether the live counter even makes sense with few users, or if a low number does more harm than good
– Whether this needs any personal history at all, or if that just turns into a streak app, which is exactly what I'm trying to avoid

If this sounds like something that would've helped, or if you're seeing an obvious flaw I'm missing, I want the criticism more than the encouragement. And if you've tried something similar and it didn't work, I want to know why too.
