I have been locked out of my global Xiaomi ecosystem for almost two months, and the authorized store’s suggested fix cannot be implemented by everyday users.
The Problem:
Hardware: Xiaomi Robot Vacuum H40 and Entrance Camera (Global versions), running on iOS.
Symptom: On the Global server, the Profile tab never finishes loading (stuck on skeleton placeholders), and all devices show "Device offline".
Proof that it is a Global server routing issue: When switching the app region to China Mainland, the app loads instantly and my Chinese-version Xiaomi Evaporator Fan works without issues. The problem is strictly isolated to Xiaomi’s Global / international server endpoints.
The Official Store's Response: The local authorized Xiaomi store (Cambodia) confirmed that local ISPs are failing to resolve Xiaomi's global server addresses and instructed customers to change their router DNS to 1.1.1.1.
Why this is unacceptable: Most standard ISP-provided modem/routers have locked firmware that does not allow users to change the default DNS. Because the robot vacuum and camera query the router's DNS directly, changing DNS on the phone does nothing to bring the devices online. Users shouldn't have to buy third-party secondary routers just to fix Xiaomi's regional server resolution failure.
Has anyone found another workaround, or is Xiaomi working on resolving these DNS/CDN routing failures with regional telecomes?
