Your girl needs a career change, any fellow Yinzers hiring?

Your girl was laid off back in November, and after a lot of time applying and trying to stay within my field of Customer Success or Software Implementation, I think I'm ready to broaden my search and potentially make a career shift. I've actually had a lot of success getting interviews (64 total companies) and have made it to the final round with 15. The problem is that I've yet to be number one. I keep finishing second.

So, I'm turning to my fellow Yinzers to see if anyone here works for a company that's hiring and thinks my skill set might fit somewhere. Ideally, I'm hoping to connect with people who might be willing to put in a good word, make an introduction, or at least help me get in front of a hiring manager. I'm very open-minded about where my background could take me next. For hybrid or onsite work, I'm primarily looking between eastern Pittsburgh and Greensburg as I live in Westmoreland County. I'm also open to fully remote opportunities anywhere in the U.S.

One small request: I really don't need suggestions to "try UPMC or AHN." I promise, I have! I've applied to each about 28 times without an interview. A lot of the positions that overlap with my background still require clinical or healthcare-specific experience, while the positions that don't tend to be frontline or call center roles. Meanwhile, I'm getting plenty of interviews elsewhere, so I think it's more of a fit issue with those particular organizations. And while my last roll paid about $125,000 I'm open to as low as 65-70,000 minimum depending on the commute and the upward mobility.

On the technical side, I've worked with servers, endpoint devices, networking, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, SSL/TLS, virtualization, Ubuntu/Linux, Windows Server and SQL/PostgreSQL. I've also worked extensively with platforms including Salesforce, HubSpot, Pendo, Intercom, Jira, Atlassian, Zendesk, Splunk, Google Workspace, Apps Script, Looker Studio, Retool and more.

Education-wise, I have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a focus in Fraud & Forensics and a Master's degree in Information Systems. That combination has given me a somewhat unusual mix of business, financial, technical, and customer-facing experience.

At this point, I'm open to seeing where else I can put that combination to work. I know making a career shift could mean taking a step back in some areas, including compensation, and to a certain extent I'm okay with that. I'm more interested in finding something where I can solve problems, continue learning, make an impact, and build the next stage of my career.
