Hey everyone,
Yesterday, Modded Warfare released a video showing how to jailbreak a PS5 on firmware 12.7 using the WebKit exploit. I tried it, and the first attempt worked perfectly.
However, after injecting the payloads, the console became extremely slow and unresponsive, so I had to restart it.
I tried the jailbreak again after rebooting, and it worked a second time, but I experienced exactly the same behavior: once I injected the payloads, the console became extremely slow and I had to restart it again.
On the third attempt, things changed. Now, whenever I try the WebKit jailbreak, the process reaches 100% and then the PS5 completely shuts down. When I turn it back on, I get the message that the console is repairing the hard drive.
Since then, the WebKit jailbreak has failed every single time. I've tried it around eight times now, and every attempt ends the same way.
I've literally spent the entire day troubleshooting this because each attempt takes around 50 minutes.
I'm starting to suspect that one of the payloads I installed may be causing the problem. The payloads I installed were:
– nanoDNS
– Keystuff Lite
– ETAHen
– ShadowMount
I'm not 100% sure the payloads are responsible, but the timing makes me suspicious.
Is there any way to remove/delete the installed payloads or otherwise clear whatever was installed by the jailbreak, without restoring the PS5?
I specifically want to avoid restoring the console. That's the main reason I waited for the WebKit method instead of using the YouTube method, since I understood that the YouTube method required a restore. I really don't want to lose my installed games or save data.
Has anyone experienced the same behavior on 12.7, or know what I can do to get the WebKit jailbreak working again without restoring the console?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm completely out of ideas at this point.
