The Ming-3.0 ASR video moves through regional speech examples, including Northeastern, Zhongyuan, Southwestern, Hakka, Wu, Minnan and Cantonese. Location names appear as hotwords alongside the recognition examples.
Ant has open-sourced the recognizer as Ming-3.0-asr-tiny, an 8.6B MoE with 2B active parameters. It transcribes Chinese and English, and its release evaluates 15 regional dialect test sets.
The interesting input is the context around the speech. Hotwords and preceding dialogue help the model recognize domain-specific terms without further training, so the caller’s place names or the current topic can be supplied to the recognizer.
Weights and code are released under MIT. The full video gives a regional listening tour of the model’s transcription capabilities and also shows integrations in Alipay, AQ and Ant Insurance.
