Hi everyone,
I'm trying to get AdMob verification working for my Android app, Full Frame 916, but I'm stuck on this error:
«“You may have set up an app-ads.txt file, but your details don't match the information in your AdMob account.”»
My app is published on Google Play, and I've followed the app-ads.txt setup instructions.
My current setup:
– Platform: Android
– App: Full Frame 916
– Package name: "com.sevensecondlabs.fullframe916"
– Hosting: Firebase Hosting
– Developer website in Google Play: https://fullframe916-ads.web.app
– app-ads.txt URL: https://fullframe916-ads.web.app/app-ads.txt
The file is publicly accessible, and it contains the exact seller line provided by AdMob:
"google.com, pub-9056841265440609, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0"
I've also confirmed that the developer website link is visible on my public Google Play listing.
However, when I click Verify app in AdMob, I still get the same error.
I recently changed my Google Play developer website URL to the Firebase Hosting URL above. The previous website was on my own domain, and the new Firebase website redirects visitors to that original website. The app-ads.txt file itself remains accessible at the new URL.
My questions:
-
Has anyone encountered this exact “details don't match” error even though their app-ads.txt file is publicly accessible and contains the correct publisher ID?
-
Could using a Firebase Hosting subdomain (".web.app") as the developer website cause a verification problem?
-
Could the redirect on the homepage affect verification, even though "/app-ads.txt" serves the file directly?
-
Is there a way to see which exact URL AdMob's crawler is checking, or any other ownership/account setting I should investigate?
-
If you've resolved this issue, what actually fixed it?
I'm trying to identify the real cause before making more changes to my website or app.
Any help from developers who have dealt with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
