Thanks to u/LivingNecessary9789 that made a guide to use Warp on the FireStick, I'm rewriting this to adapt it to my Xiaomi MiBox 3rd Gen
Lately I had some issues with my provider banning some DNS resolving and just changing it from my wasn't helpful.
So looked at this guide for the Firestick and corrected and I would like to share it with you
Part 1: Preparing the config file
- Download the right version of wgcf for your PC from here. (I used wgcf_***_windows_amd64.exe version on W11)
- Rename the downloaded file to
wgcf.exefor convenience. - Open terminal in the folder with the downloaded file, or run it and navigate to the folder using:
cd yourfolderpath(for examplecd c:\Users\yourname\Desktop\) - Run these commands
wgcf.exe registerwgcf updatewgcf generate
- You should have a file named
wgcf-profile.confin the folder - Download https://download.wireguard.com/android-client/ and keep it in the same folder of the generated files
- Rename it
wireguard.apk - Download SDK platform Tools if you don't have it (Adb)
- Unzip the platform Tools it in the same folder as all the other files
Part 2: Setting it up on your Android TV
- On your OS you have to enable developer options from Settings->About by clicking 10 times your Android TV OS build
- In Settings->System->Developer options your have to enable USB Debugging and Wireless Debugging
- Find your local network IP address navigating to your WiFi infos and write it down
- Use this adb commands to install wireguard and send the conf file to your tv box:
adb connect192.168.1.10(this ip is as example, use the one you found)- Accept the request on your TV
adb install wireguard.apkadb push wgcf-profile.conf /sdcard/Download/
- Open the new app with the white dragon
- Tap on the + button (if you don't have a file manager download the recommended one) and check the Download folder to find
wgcf-profile.conf - Once loaded, press select on the file to activate it, should be in light blue color to show it is active and show Rx and Tx data used
- Check if it's working by going to 1.1.1.1/help on the browser
This worked for me to use 1.1.1.1 Warp for free
