Problems with 2.5 Gbit USB adapter

Hi, I have a 2.5Gbit internet, but my motherboard only supports up to 1Gbit, so the technician suggested I get a network adapter, so I got a usb-c AXAGON ADE-25RC ethernet adapter.

Within the control panel the speed now indeed shows as 2.5 Gbit, download speeds reflect this and speedtest aswell, yet the browser is extremely slow. YouTube loads slow, pages load slow, even discord won't load screen shares.

I've already tried reinstalling the adapter drivers, updating them to latest, tried changing my MTU settings, tried using a DNS.

FIY: When using the 1Gbit motherboard ethernet port, everything works normally, but it's limited to 1Gbit.
