I had the absolute displeasure of being a CNA for the past 16 months and THEY ALL LIED TO ME! I was aware of the fact that I will encounter aggressive residents, have horrible shifts, have to deal with bad co workers and all that shit, I thought I was stronger than this. Turns out, I'm not.
Nobody prepares you for the scenario where you get accused of abusing a resident and stuffing their food into their pants instead of feeding it to them, then have to explain yourself at facility management and DNS for something you didn't even do just to find out a couple hours later that the very coworker that went to DNS to "report" you WAS ACTUALLY THE ONE THAT FUCKING DID IT. How did I find out? Funny story actually, I LOOKED INTO THE FUCKING CHART for five seconds, saw that she "washed" and "fed" said bedridden resident that very day. So I went back to DNS to show her. What happened after that? ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY NOTHING! This coworker is still working here and I'm told to tone it down and "be the adult". I am one of the youngest emyployees in this entire fucking facility, how is it that somehow I am more civilized than most of my older coworkers?
And don't you dare get me started on the gossip culture in this god-forsaken field.
Fuck it, I'm going back to studying linguistics
