Another PS5SX2 update is out, and this one adds some pretty big new features.

What's new:

• 🏆 RetroAchievements support: sign in directly from the shelf and unlock achievements while playing. Unlocks have PS5-style popups with the badge, title and trophy sound, including a platinum sound when you master a game
• 🖼️ HD texture packs can now be downloaded directly from the shelf: select a game, choose HD texture pack and PS5SX2 handles the download and installation in the background. Around 340 games currently have packs available from the PCSX2 HD Texture Packs collection
• 🌐 PS2 network adapter is now enabled by default for every game, using the PS5's network connection and DNS. You can disable it per game if needed
• 🗂️ Larger Square menu with a new sign-in screen and better navigation
• 🌍 Improved French, Portuguese (Portugal) and Latin American Spanish translations, with all new features translated into all 9 supported languages

RetroAchievements

RetroAchievements uses softcore mode, so achievements can be unlocked without changing the normal PS2 emulation experience.

Your password is never stored — PS5SX2 only keeps the sign-in token. If the connection drops while an achievement is being unlocked, PS5SX2 retries sending it.

HD texture packs

You can now install supported HD texture packs without manually downloading and extracting them.

Press Square on a game → HD texture pack → Cross.

The download runs in the background, and if you leave the game page it will continue when you return to the shelf. Triangle twice cancels the download or removes the installed pack.

📌 Updating from 1.85 or older: the PS5SX2 Installer can update it automatically.

For a manual update, close PS5SX2 and replace only:

/data/homebrew/PPSA99203/eboot.bin

Keep your /data/PCSX2 folder — your settings, memory cards and save states are stored there.
