Where domain hunters compare notes

I stopped using Brave after a few years (I Detected Unethical Practices)

Brave has its own DNS addresses for certain trackers.

I set up my own DNS server on my network with blocked tracker domains. I noticed that the domain doubleclick.net, which belongs to Google, isn’t blocked in the Brave browser, even though it is blocked by my DNS server (AdGuard Home). Interestingly, when I disable “Brave Shield,” the domain is correctly blocked by my DNS server.

I also verified this using the browser console and a simple code snippet: ‘fetch(“https://doubleclick.net”).then(console.log)’.

I found similar posts online where the authors didn’t receive any replies. I’ve also noticed that quite a few people recommend the Brave browser in a strange way. Any criticism of the browser is met with a strange reaction in the comments.

I’m out.
