Recently picked up a lightly-used Q3s with an aftermarket head strap and hot-swappable battery for 200 bucks, and thanks to private-quest and DNS stuff, my quest cannot send data (to the best of my knowledge) to meta, in any way. Factor in 6ghz streaming via my GOAT, the minion router, it seems like my Q3 can easily match or out-do everything the frame offers streaming-wise, except it's resolution is about 10-15% lower. I'd love to support valve, and SteamOS on ARM is a really cool development, but it's a hell of a struggle for me to justify the 1200 or so USD it'll cost to purchase one, especially given the 'meh' reception for it's speakers and screens that I've heard so far. Is there anything else it has over the Q3 that I'm missing?
For the few who do have a frame, how is it standalone compared to the Q3? I've heard estimates of 'double the power' but with that power, comes with DREADFUL battery life, although I could be misinformed. Is there anything that you wanted to play stand-alone on your Q3/Q3s that you now can given the extra RAM and processing power? While the Q3 controllers are very meh, I've heard similar stories about these guys as well. How are they compared to the knuckles controllers? These being able to sense where my fingers are at, just like the knuckles, were kind-of a make or break for me, but they don't seem to work all that well, at least from the brief reading I've done.
I appreciate the input, and I hope everything goes smoothly for y'all!
