PS5 WiFi chip dead/dying?

I have one of the original released PS5’s. The other day we were mid game and the internet dropped out completely. Connection is set to wifi and 5ghz forced.

Since then sometimes it works fine or sometimes I can be messing around with it for ages and it just doesn’t connect.

I get wifi connected, internet connected then eventually says “signed in” to PlayStation. Go out and back into the network again and it seems to be trying to reconnect again.

I have changed dns to Google or cloudflare, I have tried 2.4/5 and automatic. Sometimes once I clear all the wifi connections, it doesn’t even detect any networks. It cannot even detect the hotspot on my phone. I have rebuilt the database and still no joy.

Has anyone else experienced similar? Do I need to get a new wifi chip installed or would I be better just trying to get a new PS5?
