Can I get bricked if I don’t use dns?

After putting the dns , I can't use network and also the do the jailbreak so don't use dns , and also get some notifications of update your firmware , no auto downloading yet but is it risky? I also have to keep net up to download the game through ftp, so lmk if it's dangerous 😭
