Where domain hunters compare notes

Can I move my domain from IONOS to Jimdo without changing the web address?

Hey everyone,

I have zero background in web hosting or tech—I'm a piano teacher and just need a simple, reliable website for my lessons.

In the past, I used Jimdo and it worked perfectly. A while ago, I switched to IONOS, and it’s been a nightmare. My website constantly crashes with the message: "Error establishing a database connection." I’ve temporarily fixed it a few times, but every few weeks the exact same error comes back.

I want to move back to Jimdo so I don't have to deal with this anymore.

My big concern:

All my printed flyers, posters, and ads are already distributed. They have my exact domain name and a printed QR code linking to it.

  • If I transfer my domain from IONOS to Jimdo, does my web address stay 100% identical? Does this even work?
  • Will the QR codes on my printed flyers continue to work seamlessly, or could this break them?
  • How difficult is this transfer for someone who knows nothing about web hosting?

Thanks for any reassurance and advice!
