The gods are real—but even the gods are bound by ancient laws.

In The Prophets, each player plays two roles: a young, up-and-coming deity in the Celestial Court and the level 1 mortal chosen to become their prophet.

Create your god—their name, domain, appearance, personality and modest celestial estate. Be the god of war, wealth, rivers, secrets, hospitality, snakes—or something stranger. Your deity is an RP character, not a second character sheet, so there isn't another complicated ruleset to learn.

The gods cannot simply walk the mortal world and solve its problems themselves. They must act through followers, visions and rare miracles.

When several young gods simultaneously lose contact with their small congregations, each discovers that there is still one mortal they can reach. These unlikely individuals become their prophets and must come together to discover what has happened.

Expect traditional D&D adventuring, mysteries and combat alongside celestial politics, squabbling gods, religious worldbuilding and a somewhat irreverent divine society. Success brings followers, shrines, temples and growing influence in the Celestial Court.

Your prophet can be any class—Cleric and Paladin are obvious choices, but Druids, Fighters, Bards, Rogues, Warlocks and others work just as well.

Players: I'm looking for collaborative players who enjoy RP and helping shape the world. Gods and prophets can disagree, but characters should ultimately be willing to cooperate. Regular attendance is important, though of course real life happens.

Interested? DM me with a little about yourself, your D&D experience (none required), what caught your interest—and, just for fun, one domain you think would make an interesting god. No need to design your character beforehand.
