Hi everyone. I'm having a very strange network problem on my Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G and I haven't been able to figure out what is causing it.
Device:
\- Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G (2201116SG)
The problem happens after the phone has been running normally for a few hours.
When it happens, some apps completely lose their connection, even though the phone itself still has internet access.
Apps affected
\- WhatsApp: opens normally, but messages won't send or receive. "Link a device" also fails.
\- Instagram: gets stuck loading / doesn't work properly.
\- Opera and Opera Beta: stop working or crash.
Apps that continue working normally
\- Chrome
\- Google Search
\- X/Twitter
\- TikTok
\- Google Play Store (I can even download/install apps)
\- Instagram Web through Chrome
Wi-Fi itself appears normal, and mobile data also works. The problem happens on both Wi-Fi and mobile data, so switching between them doesn't solve it.
The weirdest part is that rebooting the entire phone immediately fixes everything. But after a few hours, the problem comes back.
Things I've already tried
\- Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data
\- Changing Private DNS from Automatic to "dns.google"
\- Checking WhatsApp's Wi-Fi/mobile/background data permissions
\- Force stopping WhatsApp
\- Clearing Google Play Services data
\- Testing different WebView settings
\- Changing the mobile APN protocol from IPv4/IPv6 to IPv4
\- Checking battery usage and background restrictions
None of these permanently fixed the problem.
I also don't think it's simply a WhatsApp or Instagram problem because multiple unrelated apps fail at the same time, while Chrome and several other apps continue working.
Has anyone experienced something similar on Xiaomi/MIUI?
I'm especially interested in knowing whether this could be related to MIUI's network stack, Android system services, process management, WebView, or some Xiaomi.eu-specific issue.
Any ideas on what system component I should investigate would be appreciated.
