Wondering if you can help….
A friend of mine works for a security company which runs its own monitoring centre / helpdesk and their ISP is merging with another one soon.
They have been told they will be loosing their static ip address assignments for their office / monitoring centre.
I asked him why they dont just program a DNS address into the units and he reckons they can only accept an ip address in the Babyware? software that they use to program them.
I think thats absurd but it seems to be true.

Google tells me there is a web interface for the IP150 modules which he can no longer get into since a firmware release removed it about 5 years ago.
I would like to advise he remotely goes around and reprograms the 200 or so customer modules which are currently pointed at their office ip address and set a dns address which would stop this from happening again in the future (they would just need to update a single A record remotely)
But from the interface he has shown me, i dont think he can do that.
So I am wondering if anyone else knows of a solution?
