I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.
You can work long hours, take on more responsibility, get a raise, and still somehow feel like you’re not moving forward.
The frustrating part is that it doesn’t always seem to be one huge financial mistake. Sometimes smaller things happen quietly:
– Your expenses increase as your income increases
– Your lifestyle starts depending on your “new normal”
– Work becomes your entire identity
– You keep chasing the next promotion without defining what “enough” actually means
– You’re earning more, but your time and freedom aren’t improving
I’m curious how people here think about this:
At what point does “working harder” stop being the solution—and start becoming part of the problem?
Is it lifestyle inflation, burnout, lack of financial planning, company culture, or something else?
I recently made a short psychology-based video exploring this idea. I’m sharing it here because I’d genuinely like feedback from people working in corporate environments—not just creators or finance influencers.
