Tailscale in Brume 2 as a backup

Hi everyone,

I’m setting up a GL-MT2500 Brume 2 at home and a Slate AX (GL-AXT1800) for travel.

My main setup is already working:

  • Brume 2 at home running WireGuard Server
  • Slate AX as WireGuard Client
  • DDNS enabled
  • Port forwarding configured
  • Tested successfully over 5G, traffic exits through my home public IP

I’d like to use Tailscale as a backup, mainly for:

  1. remote access to the Brume if WireGuard has an issue, and ideally
  2. using the Brume as a Tailscale Exit Node.

The Brume is on firmware 4.7.4. I enable Tailscale and “Allow Remote Access LAN”, but no bind/authentication link appears and the Brume doesn’t show up in my Tailscale account.

My questions are:

  • Is Tailscale fully supported on Brume 2 with firmware 4.7.4?
  • Can it work at the same time as a WireGuard Server?
  • What is the recommended way to bind the Brume to my Tailscale account?
  • Is manually enabling Exit Node still necessary on 4.7.4, or should I update firmware first?

Thanks!
