Updating MariaDB from 10.6.22 -> 10.11

I have a website that after some time I finally finished building to my liking. It already has a few users using the site. Along with a lot of information/content I manually added.

But now the sites Site Health is giving me the following warning :

For optimal performance and security reasons, you should consider running MariaDB version 10.11 or higher. Contact your web hosting company to correct this.

I contacted my hosting company to see how they could help with this issue and this is what they mentioned to do :

– Server Rebuild, which is simpler but wipes and resets the server.
– Create a new server and migrate the site, which is the safer option for an active production website

If I decide to go with the 2nd option of creating a new server then I have to

1st) Create a new server with MariaDB 11.8

2nd) Migrate the complete site/database and configurations over to the new server

3rd) Switch over the domain

Also,

1. Update the domain’s existing A records to point to the new server IP.

2. Verify both the root domain and www records.

3. Install and verify SSL on the new server.

4. Keep the old server active until DNS propagation is complete and the live site is confirmed working.

I know I need to do a full back up and have that ready. My site is running PHP 8.3 (in case that matters in this scenario).

Is there by chance an easier way to do this?

Is there a step or two missing on here that I should do or be careful with ?

For security reasons is this step required to handle now or is this something that can wait until hopefully the hosting provider can possibly find an easier alternative option to go with?

Site is being run on a xcloud managed server
