Note: This may sound more like a rant but it's been plaguing me ever since I installed it.
The Issue:
– Entering Game screen takes too long, 5 minutes or more just to get to the main menu
– Note: My friends said I appear in game and is able to invite me, but I'm still seeing the
Entering Game screen.
– Entering the main menu, there's some aspects that are lagging as if I have high ping:
– Loot Boxes, when opened, initially are blank and takes a while to load
– Group/Friend invites are delayed by 30 seconds
– Role Selection (5v5), be it notification to select my role or the role selection itself, felt delayed and I had to wait a while for them to appear.
– Once a match is found, I couldn't see map selection nor select maps as it still says "Match Found" on my screen. Then the randomness of map selection goes on loop until I enter the match itself.
Sounds like a high ping issue, right? Well:
– I'm in the closest server (Asia)
– Low ping when I play the match
(Small rant: Sometimes get disconnected and thus repeating the whole ordeal)
This issue is certainly not found when I play other games. Only in Overwatch for no reason.
What I've tried through scouring posts with similar issues:
– "Taking the settings txt file out, launching OW, and then putting it back in fixed it for me" – Reddit post
– Allowed OW on Firewall
– Verified integrity of files on Steam
– VPN (Someone suggested WARP, which worked until I'm in a match…where the ping shot up to 200ms)
– "You need to disable IPv6 And set your DNS server to preferred 8.8.8.8 and the other to 8.8.4.4 " – Reddit post
– Set OW in Admin mode
– Flush DNS
I think I've exhausted every option that I know of. I really want to play this game with my friends but this issue is single-handedly ruining my experience. Help would be really appreciated, thanks.
