Kildra Kazra-Dur lore and mod list (big ahh post warning)

(I dunno if I should use the screenshot or lore flair, so screenshot it is)

This is a lore post to share the story of my most recent (and favourite) Tav, Kildra Kazra-Dur, cleric of Laduguer. The images illustrate some of the stuff from her lore. If you want the mod list it will be in the comments.

NAME: Kildra Kazra-Dur (daughter of Kazra)

RACE: Dor-Thul Duergar

GENDER: Female

AGE: 180 Years Old

ALIGNMENT: Lawful Evil

SEXUALITY: Mintarasexual

CLASS: War Cleric

BIRTHPLACE: Darklands, Dunspeirrin

Chosen of Laduguer

Kildra was marked from birth. She was the daughter of Kazra, a powerful and influential necromancer in Dunspeirrin . Her mother (whose name she never learned) died giving birth to her.

But the greater mark was the circumstances of her birth. She was born an albino. Her skin lacked the deep purple of common duergar, bearing instead the cold gray of marble stone. Her eyes were completely blank, devoid of iris and pupils. The duergar call them Dor-Thul.

They are seen as a sign. Kids born with the colors of the Gray Protector means one thing: they are his chosen, and every Dor-Thul is destined for great deeds, to enact Laduguer's will upon the mortal planes.

The moment Kildra was old enough to carry a hammer and speak his prayers, her training began. She would become an Emissary of the Gray Protector.

But to be chosen in duergar culture means only more trials to endure.

Ascension and Deeds

Kildra trained as a Thuldor in the temple of the Spear of Conquest, but her true crucible was her father's domain: the Halls of the Gray Ossuary.

All clerics of Laduguer are called Thuldor. It is a Dwarven term meaning "Those Who Endure." The title reflects the core duergar identity: survival through suffering, unbreakable resolve, the grim endurance of their harsh existence. Kildra is a Thuldor. That is her baseline identity in the faith. But she received extra training from her father, Kazra.

He had grand expectations for his daughter. He made her life a living hell with constant, dangerous drills. She hated him for it. She also respected him for it. It made her stronger. She endured it all as a Thuldor should. He made her battle captured soldiers, now slaves. She killed them, but If he deemed the fight unsatisfactory, he would resurrect the dead with necromancy and make her kill them again. Kildra would battle for hours, sometimes a whole day, until he was satisfied. He also sometimes would task some of the slaves with killing her in exchange for their freedom, be it of poison or a dagger in the throat while she's rested, all failed attempts. She wasn't safe, even in her sleep.

At only thirty-eight years old (still young for a duergar) she became a Thuldor. The Dor-Thul have a natural talent for channeling Laduguer's power. She passed the final test: the initiation into the priesthood involves being tied to heavy stone block at the edge of a precipice, the task is to hold the block in place with the rope and not let it fall, if it falls, the initiate follows, they are left there for two days. Those who endure (true Thuldor) are then branded and initiated. And Kildra survived.

She received her title: Emissary of the Gray Protector. And received her tattoos.

Deeds of the Emissary

In the decades that followed, Kildra enacted Laduguer's will across the Underdark.

She led a raid against a Svirfneblin refugees near the Glimmersea , slaughtering every adult and chaining the children for the slave pits of Dunspeirrin. When a Deep dragon demanded tribute from her caravan, she and her subordinates tracked it to its lair and caved its skull in with their warhammers—then turned his teeth and bones into weapons and armor.

She destroyed a myconid colony that had grown too close to the duergar trade routes, burning their sovereign to ash and salting the fungus fields so nothing would grow again for a century. She hunted down a rogue duergar magister who fled to the surface with stolen weapon schematics. She dragged him back through the Underdark alive and broken, but not yet dead, so he could be publicly executed in the Spear of Conquest as an example to all who would betray The Harsh.

The Spellplague

When she was 71 years old, during the events of the Spellplague – Laduguer was killed by the other members of Morndinsamman the dwarven pantheon, and Asmodeus started wearing Laduguer's face. Pretended to be him for over a century. Most duergar didn't notice. Kildra and some other faithful did. The prayers felt wrong and the silence of her god was deafening. Kildra, some few loyal Thuldors and followers of Deep Duerra, Laduguer's Daughter led a rebellion against the imposter, in a total civil war that almost destroyed Duergar civilization. She kept her faith and fought. When Laduguer finally returned, she was waiting for him. This is why she hates the likes of Mizora and Raphael. This is why she'll never make a deal with a devil, never trust one. A devil wearing her god's skin was personal. And Kildra held that grudge.

The Surface Mission

Kildra's service as Emissary spanned more decades following the reconstruction of Laduguer's church. Now at 180 years old, she became known among the Thuldor as efficient, relentless, and utterly without mercy. Her reputation as a Dor-Thul spread through the Underdark. Other duergar knew her name. Even the drow of Menzoberranzan learned to avoid the tunnels where she walked with her party.

And then she was summoned. The Deep Scrivener of Laduguer's main enclave, a high rank cleric named Garn Hammerblows, received reports of mind flayer activity moving closer to the Underdark's upper reaches. He called for a single agent. Kildra.

The threat was too vague for an army and too subtle for a war party. A surface mission required discretion, disguises, and patience, but also knowledge Kildra did not yet possess. She would have to learn the world above while hunting its enemies.

She departed the Underdark alone, her gray skin hidden beneath makeup, a wig and clothes of colors she hated, in great city complexes, she disguise herself as a golden dwarf named Katla, to not raise suspicion and jeopardize her mission.

Despite her efforts, she failed. The illithid nest was larger than reported. The nautiloid appeared without warning. Kildra fought but she was outnumbered and unprepared for the creature's psychic powers. They captured her and infected her. She woke aboard a ship screaming through the skies of Avernus, a worm writhing behind her eye, her powers severely diminished. Now she carries two secrets: her mission, and her infection.

If she returns to Dunspeirrin as a host, the Thuldor will execute her on sight.

She must finish what she started. Destroy the illithid threat. Find a cure. Cleanse herself of the worm's taint. And never, ever let anyone of her people know what she has become.

The lore ends here, but here are some curiosities about Kildra

She loves music. Music is a personal passion of hers. She even helped Alfira finish her song in the grove—one of the only moments she is openly friendly without ulterior motives or distrust. The only thing that offered her solace between her training sessions was music. She learned many instruments in her very short free time by forcing slaves to teach her. If they taught her badly, she would crush their hands and jaws. Her favorite instrument is the war-drum. She would 100% be a bard if her path wasn't paved since birth.

She doesn't sleep well. Never has. In Dunspeirrin, sleeping meant vulnerability. Her father sent slaves to her chambers to test her reflexes. Once she woke with a knife at her throat and broke the assassin's wrist before her eyes were fully open. Kazra was pleased, and Kildra stopped sleeping deeply after that. She takes short, restless naps. Wakes at every sound. She considers it a strength. The enemy doesnt sleep. Neither does she.

She is quite fond of drow. Her favorite slave was a drow. He was her personal cup-bearer and assisted her in her training sessions. When she would get overwhelmed, she used him as a confidant. She trapped him in her room, vented to him, then forced him to drink an elixir that made him forget everything. She could not afford to have a slave know her vulnerabilities. She did this so many times that his mind suffered irreparable damage. His mental capabilities were significantly retarded. But still, she kept him around.

Until Kazra took notice of her fondness for the slave. He made her fight him during a training session. She reluctantly killed him. Then her father revived him. And made her kill him again. And again. Until there was no longer any body to be reanimated.

She collects teeth. But she doesn't display them. She keeps them in a small leather pouch tied to her belt. Every significant kill, she pulls a tooth. A deep dragon. A drow matron mother. A mind flayer. It's a personal record.

In her current mission she collected the teeth of: Dror Ragzlin, Auntie Ethel, Astarion, Nere, the Spectator, Kar'nis, Yurgir, Balthazar and The Thorms (except Isobel)

She HATES the sun. She is albino, the sun and her are not great friends. She is forced to use her gray hood when walking on the surface during the day—she hates using it because it covers her magnificent tattoos and for those reasons, she hates everything related to Lathander. She doesn't even know if he really represents the sun or something else. She sees a sun in his holy symbol, and that is enough for her to hate him.

She threw the amulet of Lathander, with the laughing monk trapped inside into the lava of Grymforge's depths. She exploded the temple in the mountain pass out of pure spite (sorry, Bae'zel). She also threw his mace into the depths of the Ebon Lake. The glow coming from that weapon really annoyed her.

And that's all, folks. Ended up bigger than I expected. This is the first elaborate lore I wrote for a character, did some research on Duergar lore but I also added my own stuff (like the dor-thul thing)

huge thank you if you've read all the way down here, let me know what you think of her story. Also sorry for any writing mistakes, english is not my native language.
