Incognito doesn’t hide you from your router. That doesn’t mean it sees every page.

A router log and a browser history are different things. Clearing one doesn’t clear the other.

What a home router actually saves depends on the model and settings. Logs can include device names, connection times and destination IP addresses. Some setups record domains too, especially with DNS-based parental controls.

But that isn’t a transcript of your browsing. HTTPS normally hides the exact page you opened, what you searched for and what you typed into a form. Seeing a connection to youtube.com isn’t the same as seeing which video played.

There’s also a VPN detail that’s easy to miss:

• VPN app on your phone or laptop: with all internet traffic and DNS routed through the tunnel, the router sees the VPN endpoint rather than the websites you’re connecting to.
• VPN running on the router: the router handles traffic before putting it into the VPN tunnel. That doesn’t hide the traffic from the router itself. HTTPS still protects encrypted content.

Either way, the router can still see your connected device, timing and data volume. A VPN doesn’t erase existing logs, and rebooting won’t remove copies already saved elsewhere.

For anyone who’s checked their own setup: does your router show domains, or just connection events? Mentioning the model and logging settings would be useful. Please don’t share raw logs containing personal information.
