I’m beginning to feel like I’m going crazy…
Just moved from a place where I had an old White Bridge and a bunch of bulbs working fine with Apple Home. New place is bigger and I just spent hundreds on bulbs and nothing I do will successfully connect these two systems.
I’ve been trying (and failing at every step) to connect Hue & Apple Home.
First, the equipment: * Hue Bridge Pro (on v1.78.2071476020) * Apple TV 4K 2ng Gen (on tvOS 27.0 – 24J5360a) * TP-Link Archer AX55 v4.0 (on v1.2.1 Build 20260527 rel.21957) * 38 Bulbs, of which 4 are not brand new/are old
Second, the preparation steps taken: * Removed all Matter devices from iOS/Keychain * Removed old Home in Apple Home * Confirmed no Bridge is located in Apple Home * Removed Apple Home from Hue Account * Confirmed IPv6 enabled * Kind of Confirmed mDNS enabled – according to my research it appears my Router has no “switch” for this but seems to be enabled by default. * Fresh reboot of all devices in order of Modem, Router, Apple TV, Bridge, and iPhone * Confirmed all devices are on the same WiFi Network (Typically 5G)
And Finally, the attempts to connect these two: * Hue App/Smart Home/“Get Started”/Apple Home/Set Up/Next/Selected “Create New Home”/Named New Home “Home”/Selected “Home” — Immediate Fail with “Apple Home Sync Error. HomeKit accessory setup failed.” * Hue App/Smart Home/“Get Started”/Other Apps/Get Pairing Code/Next — Immediate Fail with “Matter is unavailable at this time. Please try again later.” * Apple Home App/Add Accessory/Scanned QR on Bridge Pro/“Additional Setup Required”-Next/“Bridge Connecting…” — Fail with “Accessory Not Found”
So, yeah, these are the steps I’ve been doing all afternoon is one variation of another – different iOS device, 2.4G, Ethernet, etc. The only step I haven’t taken, and really don’t want to because it means re-pairing all of the bulbs, is resetting the Bridge.
Any suggestions, thoughts, or honestly just prayers, are very welcome.
Thanks!
