We built open-source apps to manage our LanCache and Pi-hole on TrueNAS

We had about 3.4 TiB sitting in LanCache on our TrueNAS server and wanted a better way to see what was actually there. That turned into Super Lan-Cache. We've also published Super Pi Hole, our separate Pi-hole v6 build. Both are free and open source.

Super Lan-Cache combines the cache engine and a web interface in one container. It scans an existing cache, shows live activity and cache hits, lets you search the indexed content, and gives you a preview before removing selected cache groups. Cache allowance and retention can be changed in settings. For a house with multiple gaming PCs, the point is to reuse supported downloads from the server instead of fetching the same data over the internet again.

Super Pi Hole brings DNS activity, devices, lists, local DNS records and family DNS schedules into our own interface. The apps run completely separately. If you want both, you can pair them with a setup code and review a prepared cache DNS preset before applying it.

These are early test releases. LanCache stores chunks, so an entry in the library doesn't prove that a whole game is cached. HTTPS downloads aren't cached either. We'd appreciate feedback from anyone running a similar setup.

Both repos include source, Docker Compose and TrueNAS installation YAML: https://github.com/HDR-Performance/super-lan-cache and https://github.com/HDR-Performance/super-pi-hole

The real screenshots from our running server are here: https://www.reddit.com/r/coolgithubprojects/comments/1w9efgq/super_lancache_and_super_pi_hole_opensource_cache/ . The cache screenshot still shows the earlier LanCache Control name; the published project is Super Lan-Cache.
