Where domain hunters compare notes

I built KLYDRIX — an AI brand-naming engine that validates names across domains, trademarks, and social handles (and it named itself)

I built KLYDRIX (ONOMLY) because I kept burning hours manually checking if a startup name was actually free — domain, trademark, social handles — before committing to it. So I turned the whole loop into a Python framework.

What it does:
– Takes a naming brief (what the product does, target markets, industry)
– Generates candidates with an LLM (divergent → convergent, 8 name typologies)
– Applies phonetic + semantic filters mid-pipeline
– Validates each candidate via pluggable adapters: RDAP domain lookup, trademark gateway, social-handle checks (X / Instagram / LinkedIn)
– Ranks a shortlist with evidence, via a resilient async pipeline (token-bucket rate limiting, retry-with-backoff, TTL SQLite cache)

The kicker: the name "KLYDRIX" came out of running the engine on its own brief. Full decision record (brief → shortlist → validation → why KLYDRIX won) is in NAMING.md.

It also runs as a Hermes agent tool — I wired it up as an MCP server so the agent can generate and validate names on demand.

Built entirely inside Hermes Agent — happy to share how the agent-driven workflow (subagents, TDD, kanban) shaped the codebase if anyone's curious.

Built a Python tool on Hermes Agent: feed it a naming brief, it generates candidates via LLM, filters by phonetics, scores them, then validates availability (RDAP domains, trademark gateway, X/IG/LinkedIn handles) with SQLite caching + rate limiting.

The kicker: the name "KLYDRIX" came from running the engine on itself — full brief → shortlist → validation → decision is in `NAMING.md`.

93 tests passing. Stack: asyncio, pydantic, Typer, LiteLLM.

**Process:** 10 typology lenses → 16 candidates → scored 1–5 on 10 criteria → top 5 went through validation gates → 3 finalists → picked the winner.

(Instagram/LinkedIn were taken for all three — common for short names, so I didn't weight them heavily.)

**Why klydrix over the others:**

– Shortest of the finalists — 7 chars, 2 syllables (KLY-driks), easiest to type.

– Sharp "K" onset reads technical; "drix" echoes "index" without being a copy.

– All critical domains (.com/.io/.ai) + X handle open; no trademark conflicts in web search; GitHub/npm/PyPI all free.

– Clean in English/Turkish/German — no negative homophones, no untypable chars.

Vyldranx lost on a slightly awkward "vy" onset in English; Myrlixis read a bit too "personal" (myr- = "my").
