1 month Review
The only available variant being sold here is 12GB RAM+512GB. Hardware is amazing for the price I bought it. Normally these are priced 10k pesos more in my country and the best you can probably get rn for 23k pesos is a Galaxy A57/Redmi Note 15 Pro+/Poco X8 Pro/Samsung S25 FE(128GB)/Honor 600
DISPLAY
Display is amazing. Best display on a phone I had. Vibrant, bezels are thin, brightness is good. It's almost perfect. Curved display is not actually as aggressively curved as the 200 Pro, more like 2.5D and feels smooth. I don't find the magic capsule distracting, but I don't think there's a need for a dual cam. And it's prone to accidental touches since the chin is thin.
Finding a compatible tempered glass for this is challenging since it has a curved display, it has an under display fingerprint, and this phone isn't popular in my country so lesser choices.
SOFTWARE
I felt like there's a disconnect between what I read on Reddit compared to what Magic OS I'm using in real life. According to Reddit, MagicOS is bad/is as worse as HyperOS. Felt like there is no in-between.
But for me the MagicOS 10 is a good OS. I don't need AI things so I don't activate that. My customization needs aren't high. It's very smooth, intuitive, simplistic, and stutter-free. I have no problems with it and is definitely better than my experience from Poco's Miui. I haven't seen any reoccuring lags/bugs/glitches in my 1 month that have frowned me. It works just perfectly fine as I expected it to be and it looks good too.
Some Honor apps have ads to my surprise. But completely solvable with dns.adguard.com
CONNECTION
On my end signal reception is pretty good, way better than my Poco's incompetent signal reception. I've seen people saying their bluetooth or wifi disconnects, I don't have that problem.
THERMALS
Pretty great for general use(camera, social media scrolling, browsing) it doesn't heat/heat much, stays cool.
GAMING PERFORMANCE
While everyday light to moderate use is perfectly fine, the chipset can handle gaming smoothly. However for heavy games, like Genshin, I advise to use bypass charging with an air cooler on it. The phone has the chipset to run the game max at smooth 60 fps, but the phones thermals can't cut it to sustain that kind of performance. It throttles down to fixed 50 fps to save itself and it tends to be uncomfortably hot at times(44 degrees) if it wants to sustain 60 fps. To resolve this, I really recommend to use a fan, remove your phone case, even while charging, to prolong the battery health.
CAMERAS
The main cameras are great. Can compete with more expensive devices. Low light is above average imo and miles better than my older phones. The sharpness is very evident, colors are punchy, and I can just post it on social media right away. As I got it at a more affordable price than it should be, it still feels like flagship. The telephoto is the cherry on top. Cameras are consistent all-board, I don't see a quality compromise when going from 1x to 3x. The ultrawide is decent as well.
However cameras tends to overprocess wall details in my house. Like it tends to exaggerate dirt or textures. But overall, the cameras are its strong part and can definitely take very good shots!
I love the selfie cam. It's detailed. I can see the blemishes, some facial hair, the pores but not to the point it makes me ugly lol.
VIDEO
The main cam can record up to 4K60 and the selfie can record up to 4K30. The video quality is fine and well-stabilized. But it's not amazing. It lacks auto focus and the telephoto video quality is darker than the main cam video quality when indoors.
BATTERY LIFE
I would say decent considering I use the 20-80 rule. But it could have been better. If it only had LTPO Amoled tech. I charge it once a day. For half day long schedules I would still need a powerbank for it just to be safe.
On the good side, it charges so fast. And since it charge so fast, I put it in front of a fan.
OVERALL
Overall it's a fantastic phone. 2-3 years updates only in Asia is not ideal for longevity, but the hardware itself shall chug along fine. I change phones every 3 years anyways so personally no big deal if camera and performance is great anyways.
