One of the many things I like about Hedera is its strategic thinking. The way it is establishing Lighthouse footholds in major business domains. A few examples – We have logistics with FedEx, we have Risk Stream and Insurance, we have Blockchain4Energy and Oil&Gas, we have Verra in ESG etc, etc…. All absolutely massive and great. I`m not going to regurgitate it all here, but if you do a minimum of research you will find that what makes these partners important is that they each represent the heart of an industry with respect to its thinking on DLT, so for example its not just the `FedEx` in Logistics -FedEx, in many ways, can claim to represent a leadership role for the entire Logistics industry when it comes to use of a Public DLT.
But frankly, what the recent GoDaddy announcements (Interestingly, no partnership but actual adoption) indicates, is arguably on a whole new level. If we look at the Internet Stack there is obviously the Hardware at the bottom. (And clearly we have Hedera linked into the Hardware Stack through EQTY / Accenture / Intel & Nvidia, which is massive in itself)…
But now it feels like we are moving up that stack, into the root of the software driving the Internet itself. GoDaddy has more individual clients using its Domain Services than anyone else. They are a lighthouse in the Domain Service Provider space. And now they are using Hedera to anchor Agents, leveraging a very well established Internet wide framework (DNS) as their Use Case Model….. While there are already a number of companies out there who have started pushing registries for Agents, usually based on their own proprietary frameworks or frameworks of relatively small groupings, and some of those do use DLTs, when GoDaddy comes forward with a Linux Foundation Open Source Solution, based upon established best practice which (while being Technology Agnostic) just happens to use Hedera as the Anchor, that is highly likely to go mainstream.
Not only that, but it bridges the Web2 and Web3 worlds, meaning that Web2 Devs can simply follow that mapped out route with little extra friction. Its just a natural step if you want to secure your Agentic activity. And when you take that natural next step then its pretty natural to use the Linux Foundation Public DLT on which that step has been proven. Once you do that for your Agents, then the next thing you do when looking at using DLT, for payments for example (which are going to be bread and butter in an Agent World, or any other purpose, is as a minimum I would suggest, to look closely at what you already using to register your Agents… So GoDaddy is an indicator that Hedera is taking a solid position right at the root of the Internet, which would then inform a lot of the thinking higher up the stack, pretty well regardless of industry or Domain or Hype or FUD…
