Trouble using the Poke Classic Network

I'm trying to trade with someone via the wifi club (top middle lady at pokecenter) and we both keep getting this error

I just traded with them last week and they were seemingly trading with other people just a couple days ago

I haven't changed or messed with any of my settings until trying to troubleshoot for the now last 2.5 hours

I normally use the primary DNS of 178.062.043.212 and the secondary DNS set to all 0's. I tried putting in the 1.1.1.1 variation and putting the primary and secondary DNS codes as the same and nothing

I've tried 164.132.044.106 as Google recommended it and nothing. My 2ds wouldn't even connect to the Internet like before

I then tried deleting my home router as a connection option and connected my 2ds to my phones hotspot with no password, tested it and it did connect to the internet perfectly fine, boot up black 2 though and still nothing but the screen you see here

The person I'm trading with does alot of trading on their own and they said the gen 4 stuff was working just fine (that's their annecdote, not mine) so it seems like solely a gen 5 thing

Currently Google is telling me to open a gen 4 game and erase my "Nintendo wfc settings". Settings Ive not touched for years because I had it setup to get all the old mystery gifts and do trading with the poke classic network. How a gen 4 games setting would affect a my black 2 copy, idk. But I'm not buying what Google is telling me in regards to erasing those settings. Because again, I've kept those settings the same, why only now would it cause an issue if I've gone months with no issue and traded in gen 5 as recently as last week

It could be that the gen 5 servers are just down, maybe something else is going on though but I wouldn't know what to look for or where to look for it

Any and all help would be appreciated

Edit: spoke with my trade partner, they said gen 4 trade servers are down too (this edit was made 5 mins after initial posting)
