Fuck It. We Made the Cybersecurity Academy Free.

I’ve been watching cybersecurity education for a long time and somewhere along the way we turned learning pentesting into a fucking subscription service. You get three beginner lessons, maybe scan a box, and right when you’re starting to understand what’s happening…PAY $49.99 TO CONTINUE. Fuck it. We decided to go the other direction. DaemonCore Academy is free. The lessons are free. The knowledge is free. You shouldn't need permission from your bank account to learn how this shit works.

And we're not interested in building another library of videos where you watch somebody else run tools for six hours and walk away feeling like a pentester. We want hands-on drills and missions. Give people an environment they can actually touch. Enumerate the target. Read the output. Form a hypothesis. Try something. Get it wrong. Figure out WHY you got it wrong. Reset the mission and do it again. We're building from the fundamentals—networking, Linux, terminals, DNS, ports and protocols—into actual pentesting methodology, enumeration, web security, privilege escalation and increasingly difficult lab scenarios. Everything happens against systems you're explicitly allowed to fuck with.

The philosophy behind it is stupid simple: tools aren't skills. Knowing nmap -sV doesn't make somebody a pentester any more than knowing how to hold a wrench makes somebody a mechanic. I want people to understand what that tool is asking the network, what the response means, what evidence they actually have, and what question they should ask next. Pentesting is a thinking discipline. The commands come after that.

We're going to keep adding drills, missions and lessons, and we're going to keep the Academy accessible. No “free until it gets useful” bullshit. If you're completely new, come learn the fundamentals. If you've been doing this awhile, jump into the harder shit and tell us where we can make it nastier.

Learn it. Break it. Understand it. Do it again.
