I’ve been troubleshooting my physical BO6 PS5 disc for 3 weeks — here is the email I just sent to Activision

I’m honestly exhausted after almost 3 weeks of troubleshooting Black Ops 6.
I own a physical PS5 copy of Black Ops 6, SKU/PPSA-22988 (Middle East & Africa).
Activision’s higher-level support previously suggested installing the PS4 version of Call of Duty HQ as a workaround to access BO6. I followed their recommendation and tested it extensively.
The workaround actually allowed me to download the BO6 standalone application through my UK PSN account. However, when I try to access Campaign, Multiplayer, or Zombies, the game tells me:
“Please insert the Black Ops 6 disc or purchase the digital version.”
The disc is already inserted in the PS5.
What makes this even stranger is that the PS5 recognizes the disc and installs Call of Duty HQ from it, but the BO6 standalone PS5 application does not recognize the same disc as a valid license.
I have already tried:
• UK, Germany, UAE, Turkey, Sweden and Saudi Arabia PSN accounts
• Multiple factory resets
• Reinstalling Call of Duty HQ
• The PS4 HQ workaround suggested by Activision
• Installing BO6 Campaign Packs 1 & 2
• Testing with and without the disc
• Restoring licenses / rebuilding the database / clearing cache
• Different network/DNS configurations
I also discovered that “Applying Update” was being affected by my network connection, and I was eventually able to get past that screen using a different DNS configuration. So that appears to be a separate issue.
The remaining problem is that BO6 still does not recognize my physical disc as the license for the PS5 standalone game.
I have now sent Activision the following request:
Please investigate the SKU/entitlement mapping for PPSA-22988 and determine why my physical PS5 disc is recognized by the console but not by the BO6 standalone application.
I specifically asked them to stop giving me generic troubleshooting instructions and escalate the case to the appropriate technical team.
I’m posting this because I’ve seen other people reporting similar situations where they physically own the game but BO6 still asks them to purchase the digital version or insert a disc that is already inserted.
If anyone has experienced this exact problem with a physical BO6 PS5 disc, especially PPSA-22988 / Middle East & Africa, please let me know what finally fixed it.
I’ll also update this post if Activision gives me an actual technical explanation or solution.
I just want to play the game I already paid for.
