Roblox Voice Chat works on my phone and another PC, but not on my ASUS TUF Gaming F16 (Windows 11) – “Unable to access microphone”

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to fix this for months and I'm completely out of ideas.

The issue

When I join any Roblox game with Voice Chat:

  • The VC icon is gray at first.
  • Then I get "Unable to access microphone".
  • If I click the icon, it says "You are disconnected from voice chat".

Important information

  • Voice Chat used to work on this laptop a few months ago.
  • The same Roblox account works perfectly on my phone.
  • The same Roblox account also works on my sister's PC (same house, same internet).
  • My microphone works perfectly in Discord, browser microphone tests, games, etc.
  • The problem only exists in Roblox on this specific PC.

My PC

  • ASUS TUF Gaming F16 FX607JU
  • Windows 11 Home 25H2 Insider
  • Build 26200.9168
  • Roblox Player from roblox.com
  • Microsoft Store version has the exact same problem.

What I've already tried

  • Reinstalled Roblox completely.
  • Tried both the website and Microsoft Store versions.
  • Changed the default microphone.
  • Enabled/disabled microphone permissions.
  • Reinstalled audio drivers.
  • Disabled ASUS AI Noise Cancelation.
  • Disabled McAfee.
  • Reset Winsock.
  • Flushed DNS.
  • Checked Windows audio services.
  • Deleted Roblox cache.
  • Tested multiple Voice Chat games.
  • Voice Chat works on another PC with the same account.

Event Viewer

I noticed this Windows error:

Faulting application: AUDIODG.EXE Exception code: 0xc0000409

I also found this in the Roblox log:

Error [FLog::ExperienceCoordinator] submitDataModelTask: Invalid DM for Voice.

There are no obvious microphone permission errors in the Roblox logs.

Has anyone seen this before or knows what could be causing it? At this point I'm wondering if it's related to Windows Insider, ASUS audio drivers (Realtek/Fortemedia), or something else.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.Hi everyone,
