100 days clean: finally kicking a habit ive had for basically a decade 😀

yo so i just hit 100 days. been dealing with this since i was around 12, they really hook you young with this stuff and its such a garbage industry honestly. for years i didnt even clock how much it was zapping my energy and messing with my mindset, it just felt normal to me, but not anymore πŸ™‚

for anyone curious about the exact date, i started may 20th. i was coming off a long weekend at a friends cabin and figured it was as good a time as any to just commit and go for it.

the first few weeks were rough, no way around it. i figured out fast that willpower alone wasnt cutting it, so i locked things down hard and blocked every single porn site with no way out. thats honestly what made the difference for me, every time id tried quitting before with just willpower id end up caving. the cravings do calm down eventually but i still think its smart to keep the blocks running all the time so youre not tempted to mess with them.

heres what my setup looks like:

– phone: i run a blocker on strict/lock mode so theres literally no deleting it or getting around it once an urge hits, no matter how bad i want to. the built in apple restrictions or the basic browser blockers were useless for me because id just switch them off the second i got a craving… not my proudest moments but thats the truth.

– computer: switched my dns over to cleanbrowsing on the family filter setting and it basically wipes out access to all that stuff.

the actual differences ive noticed:

my head feels way clearer now. im more present, more grounded, and stuff that used to send me spiraling just doesnt hit the same. my social life is picking back up too, i used to have zero interest in dating or meeting anyone new but lately im actually going out and enjoying talking to people again. overall im just in a better mood most days. hard to explain the brain fog thing until its actually gone, but once it lifts everything just feels sharper.

if youve been stuck in this since you were a kid same as me, it is worth pushing through. that first month feels brutal but the clarity you get after is honestly a completely different life. still got a good chunk of 2026 left to make it count.

anyone else start around the same time back in may? drop a comment πŸ’ͺ thanks for reading
