Hey neighbors, just wanted to give a heads-up to anyone looking for HVAC or duct cleaning services around Dallas or the wider DFW area. I almost got scammed today by an unlicensed operation hiding behind a shell website.
I found a site called purifiedairductcleaningtx.com through instagram ads. It looks incredibly professional and heavily advertises a "Whole-Home Air Duct + Dryer Vent" cleaning bundle for $298. Their FAQ explicitly guarantees "One flat price" and "No surprise charges."
I booked an appointment, but when the technician showed up to my house, he immediately refused to honor the online price. He claimed that because there had been a previous renovation, there was "heavy accumulation," and the actual price would be $800. There is absolutely zero mention of this condition anywhere on their site-it’s just a textbook bait-and-switch to nearly triple the cost once they have a foot in your door.
After turning him away, I looked closer at their website and realized it’s a completely fake lead-generation template even their social media icons don’t work. If you scroll to the very bottom, their official state license number literally reads: "TX HVAC/ENV placeholder #000000".
They don't exist on Google Maps, Yelp, or the BBB under this name. Whoever is running this just sets up these pop-up sites, farms the leads out to random, unvetted subcontractors, and relies on high-pressure upcharges once they are inside your home. When people catch on, they probably just buy a new domain name and start over.
Make sure you actually verify Texas HVAC licenses before letting anyone into your home, and don't fall for the fake $298 bundle from this site!
