Since I already purchased it, marked as Troubleshooting. Picked up the Brother MFC-9970CDW. It's way more than I need for SOHO, printing approx 100 pages a day plus scanning frequently.
How do I get the smtp info for my work email address?
I cannot figure out the scan to email settings. I have to scan signed medical documents multiple times a day. It's all confidential. I thought I could just push Scan To Email button and enter in my email address. Nope. DNS issues. I don't understand it but followed the instructions I found on Brother website. Since I work from home, I have a work laptop with a work email address. I want to use the work info as the FROM for scanning. I couldn't figure it out, so I created a dummy Gmail account and set it up. This works, but… Since it's confidential info, I really need the sender on the printer to show as my work email. My company does not have an IT department – there's only a few of us, so I don't know who or even what to ask.
