I got tired of paying for VPN & IPTV to watch Indian content abroad so I built this

Hey everyone!

I was getting pretty fed up with paying for VPN and IPTV just to watch Indian content from outside India, so I decided to build something for myself.

Basically, I made a little device that lets me access Indian streaming services through an internet connection back in India.

What it does –

– Gives me a residential Indian IP

– Gets around CGNAT

– No monthly subscription, basically set it and forget it

– Works with JioHotstar, Netflix, Prime, Airtel Xstream, etc.

– Just needs an internet connection in India

The biggest reason I built it was JioHotstar. VPN IPs seem to get blocked pretty often, and there are plenty of reports of people having their accounts banned when using VPNs.

IPTV was another headache. Its a hit or miss situation and depending on what you're paying, it can get pretty expensive over time (in comparison to what I made).

How much it costs –

Right now, the hardware comes out to a one time purchase of roughly $60–$70.

And if RAM prices eventually come back down, I should be able to get that cost even lower.

I'm thinking of turning this into an actual plug-and-play device that people living outside India could buy once and leave running at home in India.

Would you actually buy something like this? And would you be willing (or unwilling) to pay ~$60-$70 for it?

I'm genuinely looking for feedback before I take this any further. Would love to hear what you guys think, especially if you're currently using a VPN, IPTV, Smart DNS, etc. to access Indian content abroad.
