UK-based (Essex) senior MSP engineer, 12+ years across the full stack, open to remote work. Happy to cover US hours – being in the UK works well for after-hours/overnight coverage or morning handover.
Currently a director/senior engineer at a small MSP (400+ users, 20+ SME clients) and looking to step back into a pure senior technical role – projects, 3rd line, architecture, mentoring – rather than the management side.
What I bring:
• M365 & Azure – tenant builds and migrations (on-prem/Exchange → M365), Azure AD/Entra, Conditional Access, hybrid identity, Intune (enrolment, config profiles, compliance, app deployment)
• Infrastructure – Windows Server 2008–2022 (AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, DFS), Hyper-V, clustered storage, full server/DC builds
• Networking -VLAN segmentation, Unifi WiFi, firewalls, site-to-site VPNs, switching, up to ~200 seats
• Cloud migrations end to end — planning through cutover
• RMM/PSA – Level.io: monitoring, patching, automation, SLA-driven workflows
• Security & continuity — ESET estate management, backup/DR with documented recovery, security baselines
• AWS hosting, MS SQL Server, and specialist support for Wolters Kluwer CCH Central (accountancy sector)
• 3rd line escalation point; mentoring teams of up to 4 engineers
• Client-facing IT advisory — reviews, roadmaps, plain-English recommendations
Full UK driving licence, own kit, reliable remote setup. Permanent or contract both fine.
