After switching from IOS to Android I naturally fell into the rabbit hole of privacy, and how big of an issue it really is. I've known this for a long time but still been kinda slacking, something I want to change.
I've bought a second phone which I plan on installing lineage on. Since I'm traveling a lot I rely on carrier internet, where hotspot feed my other devices. I know there is no way to be completely anonymous, but I would at least like to try and make it as hard as possible.
I plan on using my primary phone for normal things like banking and email etc, while the second phone would be used for burner accounts on social media, YouTube, torrenting etcetc. Now my question is how do I achieve this the best way?
How much information is shared over hotspot, and or dual Sim?
Since I'm new to all this I'm uncertain about the best approach. Keeping the phones separate enough to not link the information is my concern here. I was planning on using perma VPN on my second phone, and some DNS service or app like rethinkdns. I'm not to worried about my carrier, but I want to avoid profiling, and stay as anonymous as possible to others like google.
Has anyone been down this road and can share some input on potential issues or pitfalls, and what worked for you etc?
With things heading where they are, its time to start practicing better habits, so any input on how to best do this is appreciated.
