Purrl & Pawlet..Mama & Baby Looking for a Home Together

The rescue is Charlotte-based. Purrl and Pawlet were rescued near Chapel Hill and are currently in their foster home in Concord.
The rescue is full, and I have been fostering them for almost 3 years. For personal reasons, I may not be able to continue fostering them, and I am scared they could be separated because the rescue and other foster homes are already full.
Both girls are fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-treated, and combo tested negative. Baby had dental work done last year, and Mama had dental work done this year.
Their names are Purrl and Pawlet, but they have always known themselves as Mama and Baby.
When we rescued them, Baby was only 2 months old, and Mama was about a year old.
Today, Mama is 5 and Baby is 4.
They are funny, sweet, playful girls who may take a little time to trust new people.
But they love almost everything…dogs, cats, plants, chairs, tables, watching TV, their screened porch, and especially food.
Mama is very playful and energetic. Baby is more laid-back and sometimes gets tired of Mama’s endless energy.
They are deeply bonded. Where Mama goes, Baby follows.
They mostly eat wet food and are very food-motivated. They also love kitty grass and eat it every day. They are definitely two spoiled girls who take their mealtimes and daily kitty grass very seriously.

Their bond began with a story I will never forget.
Mama was abandoned when her family moved away. She had only one baby, and she was raising Baby through a freezing winter.
Mama would sleep inside a cement planter and curl her whole body around Baby to keep her warm.
A kind woman tried to rescue them and managed to trap Baby first.
Mama realized her baby was gone.
It was heavily snowing, but Mama stayed on the woman’s balcony, crying and demanding her baby back. She would rest for a little while and then get back up and continue crying.
For two days, she refused to give up.
Finally, Mama was trapped and reunited with Baby.
From that moment, we knew they had to stay together.
Years have passed, and no one has come forward to adopt them together.
They have already waited years.
They just need an understanding home that knows Purrl and Pawlet…Mama and Baby..come as a pair.
A screened porch would make them very happy. Kitty grass every day would make them even happier. And, of course, plenty of wet food.
Most importantly, a mother who spent two days crying in the snow for her baby deserves to know that her baby will always be beside her.
They have waited for years.
Maybe their family is finally out there.
