[TLDR] I used Claude to vibe code a compass app to find the nearest toilet, called Compiss. [via r/ClaudeCode]

OP : u/Jesus_Morty

I used Claude code via terminal on my Mac to generate all the code, assets and perform e2e tests while making a compass app to find the nearest toilet. There are others out there but none of them are called Compiss 🙂 Jokes aside, I found the public toilet search on the built in apps a little lacking so I built this to capture some of the features I found useful. I like to think of it as a mix between Waze and a toilet finder app.

Compiss allows you to rate the cleanliness of toilets, add comments or photos (subject to moderation), filter based on free, accessibility options along with a few other things.

It's completely free, no ads, no in app purchases. Finding the nearest toilet shouldn't cost anyone anything.

It's now on both Apple and Android stores and includes watch versions for both as well.

Alright, so the general consensus on this thread is overwhelmingly positive and amused by OP's toilet-finding app, Compiss. People are digging the unique concept and the fact that it was "vibe coded" with Claude.

Here's the lowdown:

  • "Compiss" is a hit! The name is getting props, with some even suggesting alternatives like "ThroneSeeker" or "wc" (though "Compiss" seems to be the winner). There's a bit of confusion about the spelling, but most seem to roll with it.
  • "Finally, something useful!" Many commenters are thrilled to see an app that's genuinely practical and funny, a refreshing change from the usual demo projects. u/RegardedDev even called it "unique, funny and useful instead of the flood of todo apps!"
  • Feature requests are rolling in:
    • Users want to see toilet ratings for cleanliness (u/Connect_Army8250, u/ricopan).
    • Adding opening hours and filtering out closed toilets is a popular suggestion (u/ElPoussah).
    • Some are keen on tracking peak usage times to avoid busy bathrooms (u/pricetag).
    • Ideas for monetization, like businesses paying for boosted listings, are also floating around (u/kyew).
  • The "vibe coding" aspect is praised: u/legend0x called it "the pinnacle of vibe coding" and asked about the tech stack and maintenance plans.
  • Some playful suggestions: u/RiPont and u/flyingdorito2000 had some cheeky name suggestions, and u/Calebkeller2 compared it to "Pokémon I gotta Go."
  • A few repeat posts? A couple of users pointed out that OP might have posted this before, but the positive reception suggests people don't mind seeing it again.

Overall, it seems like Claude really answered nature's call with this one, and the community is here for it.
