transactional email setup is taking longer than the feature it serves and i’m starting to think i’m solving the wrong problem

Password reset and signup confirmation emails are working, but the time I’ve spent picking a provider, setting up DNS records, and second-guessing deliverability has already gone beyond the time I spent building the actual feature. I’m a developer, so this should be solvable, but every guide seems to assume you already know what you want, and “just pick one” doesn’t really account for the fact that switching later means redoing sender verification and DNS configuration all over again. Volume is tiny right now, but I keep reading that your infrastructure choice matters more once you scale, so now I’m stuck trying to optimize for a problem I don’t actually have yet. Is the switching pain really as bad as people make it sound, or is this something worth solving correctly the first time?
