Why I'm posting: to document this storefront and to help the people who've already paid get their money back. Flagging that up front because of rule 3 — the one link below is the write-up of the refund process, not a product or a service, and everything in it is repeated in this post so you don't have to click anything.
Disclosure: I'm not neutral. My wife's family owns Barbara & Company, a boutique with two stores in Colorado. We are the business on the receiving end of this. I'll stick to things you can verify yourself.
What's verifiable about barbaradever.com:
– No phone number published anywhere on the site.
– No contact address. The contact page and the legal-notice page are both blank.
– No company registration, no legal entity name, no owner name — anywhere.
– A second domain, holly-london.com, redirects to the same storefront, so one shop is trading under more than one name.
– The domain was registered in April 2025 (public WHOIS).
– BBB has consumer reports on file about it.
The part that dragged us into it: people read "Dever" as "Denver." They go looking for a phone number, that store publishes none, and search engines hand them our listings instead. We're taking 5–10 calls a day from people trying to track an order, return something, or get a refund on a purchase that never came near us. We can't look any of it up. Some of them have left us reviews for a company we have no connection to.
If you paid and got nothing, you can try this:
-
PayPal: open a dispute in the Resolution Center under "Item Not Received." Buyer Protection covers this and there's a filing window, so don't sit on it.
-
Card: call the number on the back of your card and dispute the charge as goods not received. Shorter window than PayPal, varies by issuer.
-
Keep your order confirmation email and any messages from the seller. Whoever handles the dispute will ask for them.
-
Then file at reportfraud.ftc.gov, ic3.gov, and bbb.org/scamtracker. Five minutes each.
Happy to answer questions, though the honest answer to most of them is "we don't know, we're just the other Barbara."
