I was messing with the WAN SLA today to change the test servers since I was getting a lot of notifications about the internet being down even though it wasnt. I tried setting up 2 verification servers checking against both google and cloudflare, and made it so that I wont get a notification about the internet being down anymore unless both servers report back a failed test condition.
The problem is that when I did this the internet just said it was down and never came back up, even though I know it isnt down since I am configuring it remotely. I wouldnt be able to connect if it was actually down. I tried leaving it for a while to see if the verification SLA just needed time to update, but that wasnt it:
Then I found that if I changed the SLA to DNS instead of ping it all worked and the internet said it was up. Same SLA, same servers, same setting. The only change being from a straight ping to 8.8.8.8 to DNS using 8.8.8.8 out to google.com

Has anyone else had this issue? Am I just not understanding how this is supposed to be set up?
And lastly, are my settings for the SLA terrible and should be changed?
Edit: And doing a ping in terminal from a PC to the same IPs does work, so it isnt like ping command is somehow being blocked on the network.
